Step by Step

Tomato Seed Saving

1. Carefully cut fully ripe tomatoes in half across the middle to expose the seed cavities, then squeeze the seeds out into a container.

2.Add water to cover them and let sit at room temperature for about three days until fermentation occurs and a mold forms on the surface.

3.Gently scrape the mold & debris layer off. Add more water and stir. Skim off top again, and repeat until only clean seeds are left then strain, rinse and set out to dry.

4. Store in a cool dark place until ready for planting.
